Hi there,
Just to say thanks and well done to everyone who competed for and supported team Whitemoss today. It was a great turn out and everyone gave 100% and more.
Many athletes competed in events which they would probably not choose but in doing so earned valuable points for the club so a special thank you to all these athletes.
Master men, master women, senior men and senior women we really appreciate what you all put yourselves through today and hope you don't suffer too much in the morning. The number of events that you managed to cover between you all was unbelievable.
Athletes you were all a credit to Whitemoss AAC and regardless of winning the league or getting promoted you couldn't have tried any harder.
As soon as I know results I will let you know.
Thanks
Team Manager

25/07/12Whitemoss AAC/East Kilbride AC Merger
Committee Members and Coaches representing both clubs have met on several occasions to explore the possibility of club merger.
The primary consideration was if the athletes of both clubs would be better served if there were one club.
A merger plan will shortly be issued to each club’s membership prior to any vote: the merging of the clubs is a democratic decision made by the club’s members.
The merged clubs would remain non-profit organisations.
Whitemoss AAC and East Kilbride AC have in recent times worked collaboratively with the sharing of equipment and coaching expertise is a common occurrence. Other examples include the ‘Athletics Hub’ project, a return to the Young Athletes League (YAL) with a South Lanarkshire Team (incorporating Whitemoss AAC, East Kilbride AC and RonHill Cambuslang) winning Division 2 and qualification to the YAL finals on 29th July.
Whitemoss and East Kilbride will hold their Club Championships jointly on 16th September at the John Wright track.

Just to say a big thank you to all athletes and parents who made the trip down to Dumfries today.
It was a great day with lots of outstanding performances and every event that an athlete took part in earned valuble points for the club.
A big thank you to all our more senior athletes and I hope you are not too sore in the morning!
An extra thanks to our first time competitors and their parents and I hope you enjoyed the experience and will do it all again.
I still don't know where we finished in the league today but as soon as I hear I will let you know.
Final League meeting is on the 19th August so put the date on your calender and more details about events will follow.
Again a massive thanks, you were all a credit to the club.
Well done to Scott Connal for a 1.61m in the High Jump ( League Record and PB)

Whitemoss AAC Athletes claim Silver
Whitemoss AAC athletes Emily Craig and Scott Connal won Silver medals at the Scottish National Indoor Under 14 Combined Events Championships at Kelvin Hall on Sunday 19th February
In strong fields both athletes excelled gaining personal bests in many events to achieve their medals.
Emily and Scott ran 60 meter hurdles, competed in the Shot Put, High Jump and Long Jump before culminating with a 800 meter run
In the boys event Scott Connal, aged 11, missed out on the gold medal by a mere 10 points after one of the gutsiest 800 meters anyone is ever likely to see.
Emily also took a well merited silver medal after running the fastest 800 meters of the group to clinch her second place.

From ScottishAthletics:
The Scottish National Senior Championships will soon be upon us – and we
really want you to be there.
Junior Relays take place on the same day and at scottishathletics we need
your help to make both days at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow real family
occasions with a celebration of our fantastic sport.
The action on Saturday 2 June will start at 1pm and finish at around 4pm
with Sunday 3 June – more of a finals day – taking place from 12.30pm to
around 5pm.
We’re already hard at work on the job of sifting through entries, compiling
start list and making plans for extra fun events at Scotstoun which
everyone can enjoy.
And it cannot be stressed how much we need the support from club members to
come along on the day. The bigger the crowd, the better the atmosphere.
Back your own athletes who will be involved as they seek a place on the
podium, watch stars of the future or generally just relish the atmosphere
around athletics in a huge summer for sport.
Participation and performance are key goals for scottishathletics and
already there have been very good numbers involved in the indoor season and
the return of the District Championships at three different venues.
Thank you very much indeed for your commitment on those occasions.
But the Senior National Championships should be red letter days and the
more people at Scotstoun the better it will be for everyone involved.
We made a concerted pitch to BBC Scotland for television coverage for this
year’s championships but were unsuccessful on this occasion.
That may change for 2013 and 2014 as the Commonwealth Games loom and one
way which will seriously strengthen our hand will be video footage we hope
to put together from this year’s event.
That could then be used for promotional purposes and that’s why we want as
many people as possible in the stands and taking part on the track and
around the stadium.
Kids are free and adult entry is just £3 for what should be two great days
out. Remember it is 1pm to 4pm on Saturday and 12.30pm to 5pm on Sunday.
There will be competitions on the day – we will tell you soon about the
special prizes – and so much more.
Few would dispute that Scottish sport is now in a state of flux.
The next two years offer a brilliant opportunity for athletics to establish
itself firmly in the hearts and minds of the public.
That won’t happen just with good performances by a handful of elite
athletes. It requires a groundswell of support and passion from people
like you who put in so much hard work through cold winters.
The trains regularly rattle by Scotstoun. But let’s put in a bit of our own
thunder …
